Published by the Department of National Defence

Soft cover in French and English, available from the Department of National Defence

Preface
For forty years members of Her Majesty’s Canadian Force s have been appointed to the Order of Military Merit in recognition of their outstanding meritorious service over an extended period of time. Drawing from Canada’s rich military traditions the Order of Military Merit has become the preeminent mark of recognition for service within the Canadian Forces, following a long tradition of recognizing military merit that dates back to Royal France’s Croix Saint-Louis and Britain’s Most Honourable Order of the Bath. This fully illustrated book details the origins, history and development of the Order of Military Merit from its nascent beginnings at the end of the Second World War to the present day.

Foreword by Her Majesty The Queen
